When I first got into massdrop about a year or more ago they had like levels to the drop, so like if 80 people joined a drop the price would go down for everybody and you could commit to drops at a certain price. I really don't know why they got rid of that. It was so unique and presented so much value.

heldpizzaIt's certainly not what it used to be, but every once in a while you'll find something that's fairly exclusive.
You might've been looking at the Limited Edition one, which is $348 at the time of this post. This one even has $258 strikethrough as its original price on this page, on the right of the $249.99.
I would be very interested in this drop if you were featuring the all-45g special edition.
Many others would likely be interested in the all-55g version.
Quite a few people find the 30g weight in the variable version to be much too light.
Yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. Sadly they don't ship the keyboard directly to my country, but thankfully I have a friend living in Japan so I'll ask him to bring it here when he comes back.
ext3rNHope you enjoy it, I've been liking it more than the Type-S I had before! The APC is a very neat feature and it starts to feel strange without it sometimes.
Waiting for the full size PFU special edition to come out then I'll jump the gun. For those who don't know the PFU special edition is all 45g silenced with APC.
I would not participate in this drop, because it does not offer the RF combination that I would favor. I would want a TKL form factor in black with either all-45g or all-55g switches, to which I would then add silencing rings and lubing of switches and stabilizers. Alternatively, I would want a black TKL PFU edition, which has all-45g switches and factory silencing. I have already purchased two of the black TKL PFU models from Amazon at $348 each. The extra $100 seemed worth the savings in parts and labor for the built-in silencing.
I would never buy a variable weight RF, because I consider the 30g switches far too light to avoid unwanted keypresses.
I already had some Topre keycap sets, and I have replaced the alphas with legended blue kecaps, keeping the black spacebar and modifiers. I also alternated blue caps with red in the F-key row. For remapping, I have attached a Hasu USB-USB converter.
I am typing this on one the black RF R2 TKL PFU edition in my home office, and it is glorious! The other RF R2 is at my work office.
Yeah unfortunately, I might wait a bit and see if things change later lol.
Oh as for FC660C, I find everything is perfect except if they had silent version it would be better. Personally I can't go back to non-silent Topre anymore it makes a huge difference for me feel wise (not just sound).
The topre switches aren't just expensive, they are inarguably one of the best tactile switches you can get on a mechanical keyboard. They're not like the traditional mechanical switch, where it uses a slider/leaf/spring design, rather it uses a rubber dome/slider/spring. It's not as customizable as MX style switches, but for a stock feel, it's really hard to beat.

Thank you for the explanation. Taehatypes explained quite a bit today. I get it now. 👍
