Founded in 1979, Al Mar Knives has a reputation for quality cutlery and innovative designs. Headquartered in Oregon and taking inspiration from its late founder, blackbelt Al Mar, the company brilliantly combines form and function. So, when TOPS was given the opportunity to collaborate with Al Mar on the Mini SERE Operator, it was a no brainer. Featuring a 4-inch blade made from 154CM stainless steel, this fixed blade is shaped for a variety of tasks, from cutting rope to piercing animal hides to slicing food. The false edge comes dull, but it can be sharpened. The handle is no joke, either. It’s made with rugged G-10 scales that will hold up in slippery conditions, with a shape that naturally complements the curves of the hand. To go with it, there’s a kydex belt sheath.
