Just received the package. Opened it... and it had a wrong watch inside. Made order for the flieger type chrono but received a racing one :(

MarPablHey Marpabl , I am after some sound advice on proposed purchase of a Maurice Lacroix watch I have found for sale new. There are obvious problems with the company, currently without a parent owner ,so where I live retailers are selling them out. I couldn't find any reviews; so I thought that this style of watch would be something you may have an opinion on. It is a Pontos Chronograph automatic,titanium case, PT6188-TT031-330; asking price $1450.00 usd. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

As a brand, they have created really interesting in 🏡 complications. The⌚ you want is nice indeed and it seems to have a Valjoux 7️⃣7️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ so I wouldn't worry regarding long time service and repairs.
Maybe, the price seems a bit high in my opinion for a Valjoux 7️⃣7️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ perhaps if the bracelet was titanium as well 🤔 As a comparison I got once a Rado 💯% ceramic chronograph with an ETA 2️⃣8️⃣9️⃣4️⃣ which ETA considers a higher end caliber compared to the Valjoux... and that one ⌚went for 💲1️⃣2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ and it was also sold here https://drop.com/buy/rado-hyperchrome-automatic-watch

I picked up one of these the last time they were offered. I got one of the chronos and I have to say I was very pleased. It’s done a lot to quiet down my obsession with IWC. mine is the 40 mm version which I think is the perfect size for it. I don’t mind that it’s a little bit chunkier than I’d prefer simply because I know a Chrono is usually going to require more space. This time around I was seriously looking at that manual winding piece but for the life of me I can’t understand why they would make a manual winding watch that is 17 mm thick and 44 mm wide. I guess I have been spoiled by the fact that every manual watch I have is very thin and not too large. shame because it looks beautiful. But seriously, who the hell decided that a manual winding watch needed a 17 mm tall case?? maybe they figured that because these are tributes to New York it was necessary to make a skyscraper watch.

I'm waiting for my GMT to arrive. It was in CA last week, but the eta is Nov. 13. I forgot how long purchases on Drop take to arrive.

Just received mine yesterday. One thing that really surprised me was the sandwich dial. The lume poking through the black face is sweet. The Seconds hand on my GMT model is a little cheap looking, but overall I'm super happy with this purchase. Just +7s in the first 24 hours of wear.

I've ordered the steel GMT model for the price it's a great deal imo. I'll probably change the strap to a racing strap with red details to make the watch look a bit more sporty. Currently checking out either the Hirsch Ayrton, Robby or Carbon as an option (see pics)

I haven't received mine yet but it looks like the bar is screwed in through one side like on Panerais. I'll probably ask the watch shop where I'll buy the strap to change it for me.

k0ndomoYup, it’s a screw bar. Real pain. My pet peeve is a waterproof watch with a leather band. So I changed it to a silicon racing type band like the OP. Just a great looking watch that keeps great time. Obviously not a premium piece but certainly has the feel and looks of one.

After reading the comments about drops lack of response I’ve decided to not buy this watch or anything else from drop and I’m unsubscribing from future emails. Maybe if more people do this they will get their act together.

A 2893-2 under $400 sounds good the chrono however i didn’t take the time to research the movement but I would think it would have to be a module and I’m not a fan of modules even on an eta

ED61Yes all ETA 2️⃣8️⃣9️⃣❎ movements are modular. Even the GMT. This caliber family is regarded as superior to the Valjoux in case of the chronograph.
This price is great as well as the movement inside, you should try that. It's true however that the usual route in case of the module failing, is to replace the whole module. But this caliber is regarded as very reliable so it would be rare that you have any sort of issue.
