Not sure anyone will see this but Tredagain is clearancing all their current shoes. Half price. Shipping is a little steep at $10, but might be worth it.
Aside from the initial issue below, I've been happy with them. I sprayed them with waterproofing, but feel like they're fairly sturdy shoes on their own already. I wish they had maybe 1-2 more rows of grommets to allow for better tightening, but that's it.

I've had mine a few weeks now. Based on other comments, I wore them at home a few nights to break them in. I can definitely feel the top of the heel rubbing against my ankle. It seems to have gotten better the more I wear them. I finally wore them to work one day last week and had no issues. Lacing could be better. I usually wear my shoes fairly tight, but didn't lace these as tight. Maybe a longer tongue with another eyelet? Otherwise no complaints. I did spray them with waterproofing to help keep them looking cleaner. We'll see if that helps.
Update: a grommet just came off this morning while lacing up. Going to email Tredagain then Massdrop.

I regret not checking back on others impressions sooner because it seems that lackluster reception is fairly close to mine as well.
First off, these aren't exactly true to fit, the fit varies from alright in some spots to completely wrong in others, especially in the heel.
I actually wear duoderms (medical grade, waterproof adhesive bandage that last a week easily) and two pairs of socks when I wear these now, otherwise they're hell on your heels. I wore them during my work day (7 AM to 5 PM) for the first long session and came home with serious discomfort only to find that these had chewed (read chewed, not blistered) through my heels enough that I bled through two pairs of socks and into the heel of the shoe. While it cleaned fairly easily I also found that the suede does not love water and found it actively rubbing off and fraying from walking in rain/snow over time.
The interior of the shoe is also not super great-- very little arch support, or any support anywhere to be frank. I understand this is more difficult with the full suede materials, but this may be a serious consideration for anyone looking at these who has high arches or other foot ergonomic concerns. Beyond that, the sole is alright, but is clearly glued rather than stitched and is overall unextraordinary.
It's absolutely impossible to get on without loosening each lace significantly and the laces feel pretty cheap overall. The loops for tightening seem like they're slightly too small and the laces get screwy over time if you're not careful. I also had the patch on the tongue of the shoe rip off partially within my first two times wearing them due to how the laces tighten on the seam.
In my opinion, these shoes are good for only a few things. The recycled bottom is nice and thick and seems durable and the actual aesthetic of the shoe. Everything else is either barely average at best or absolutely awful at worst.
I knowingly took a chance on these shoes because they look great and I like supporting up and coming businesses. However, I am completely confident in my recommendation to not buy these shoes or any other products from TredAgain until the QC and QA of their products is demonstrably improved.

Can't recommend these shoes as they are uncomfortable, and broke as I was putting them on for the first time. The metal ring through which the lace passes came undone from the leather of the shoe. Wasted money.

pyzkyikes. Did you contact Massdrop or Tredagain? This company is new enough that it's hard to find any reviews of their shoes beyond sandals.
pyzkHello Pyzk,
Sorry to hear about the damage to your new shoes. Massdrop should accept returns on damaged items through their customer service channels. I am happy to help with that process as you like, or help create a different solution. My email is chelsea@tredagain.com, and you can call anytime at 512-900-6566.

Hmm, was thinking about their boots drop and these show up. I love the idea of things made with recycled material. Simple shoes used to be my go to company along with Patagonia for eco friendly shoes, the rebooted Simple Shoes has yet to include any recycled or eco-friendly material which was a big selling point for me.

I've worn mine for a couple hours one day and half a day today. I'm not a fan and doubt I'll wear these after today. The shoe does not go on easily unless you really loosen the laces. I've only walked maybe 8 blocks so far. I have not worn such an uncomfortable shoe in a very long time. I am almost always size 9. These size 9's are loose in the heal and a bit tight in the ball of the foot and toe. They feel like the tight areas will loosen enough for comfort with wear. But the loose heal and overall heal shape causes heal lift and rubbing on the back of the foot that feels like a couple of miles would cause blisters. When I tighten the laces enough to hold the heal in place then it transfers discomfort to other areas.
Hello Krikor,
The suede on theses shoes will stretch in response to your foot, but I would like to speak with you directly so we can make sure a different solution isn't needed to address the way these fit for you. Can you email me at chelsea@tredagain.com so we can get you taken care of ASAP? Thank you!
Good Morning Noshortcuts,
Thank you for following up about the underfoot seam issue. This sounds like an anomaly that I would very much like to explore. I would also like to resolve the overall issues you are having with these shoes. Can you email me at chelsea@tredagain.com so we can find a resolution ASAP? I appreciate you speaking up so we can tend to these issues.

How do you check the fit with shoes? Can I return them if they don't fit correctly? Perhaps I should join any drop with a brand I haven't tried?

@mikeb0 @Adam_Ross All of our events are, for the most part, final sale -- unless there's something wrong with the product when it arrives to you. These fit TTS (true-to-size) according to the Brannock device. I'm usually between a US 9.5 and a 10, and the 9.5 were just fine for me. For more information about our customer support and exchanges/return policy, you can click on your icon on the top right and choose Help Center. Thanks for your interest on this drop!
