Edit: It is now 2+ years later in Oct. 2024 and the cable has still been great for me and my wife's respective setups (mentioned below). No issues with wear and tear with daily usage but it will always depend on how you treat your own gear.
I bought these in the gray/blue colorway through a different site as it was not available here. The cable itself is very well made with nice thick sleeving and beautiful weaving. It will lay flat and will not twist into itself like the stock cable.
The connectors for the HD 6XX/58X are slightly different than the stock cable, but works. Red for right side, black for left side. There is a dot on each connector and should face outwards (red dot = right of your head, black dot = left of your head).
For sound quality, it didn't really change the 6XX from the stock cable. Maybe a slightly punchier bass and needed a very small volume bump on my Audient iD4 audio interface (1 to 2 clicks), but is about 99% similar from several hours of listening. I haven't tested the cable on my wife's 58X Jubilee + GoXLR setup but I expect it to produce the same results.
No warranty.
Be advised that if this cable fails in some way outside of the MassDrop 30 day return guarantee, there will be no after sale warranty by the manufacturer. I purchased two of these; one for a T1 and one for the HD800s. One of the dual 3.5mm connectors for the T1 has a connection problem from the day I unpacked it that I was able to solve by wrapping electrical tape arownd it to force contact. I simply accepted this as a nuisance that I'd live with as trying to go through a retun process would be too much trouble. Now, while disconnecting the HD800 connector, the cable itself pulled out of the connector. Drop coustomer service was not able to help with information for returning to Tripowin for repair. I would have paid them to resolder. That is not possible now so I have ended up with a $60.00 useless cable six months after purchase. I seldom have problems with purcahes anywhere. This one has been an abysmal experience. The cables look nice but there are quality control problems here. I cannot in good consience recommend purchase of these cables due to the risk of failure because of lack of quality control and no after purchase customer service available. This was a costly lesson in my case. I want to be clear that most of my experience with Drop has been positive. This has been an exception. There are after market options in this price range of better quality. Peri**t is one I recommend. When purchasing directly from a dealer or manufacturer; if you have a problem, you can get assistance. Going through a middleman is not ideal. Drop's recommendation for finding a solution to this problem was to go into this forum and start a thread. Lol! God one Drop! I can truly say that without your help I wouldn't of had been able to figure this one out on my own. At least I got some comedy out of this purchase.
MdravoxI missed that shipping date before joining the drop, thanks for posting this. Went to the Linsoul site and was able to get the same cable for $31.20 after spinning their discount wheel. Free shipping, which I'm sure will take a while, but probably just as long as waiting until the end of May.
Does anybody know if the dual 3.5mm connectors will fit into the Beyerdynamic Amiron Home? Those headphones say they have a proprietary locking mechanism on the 3.5mm connections. The T1 and T5 also have this as well.
