Full disclaimer on this: I think cables are snake oil. To a point, it's not going to improve your sound; just your experience.
I bought this cable because I own a DAP with (a previously unutilized) balanced output, so why not give it a try for under $20? The cable is solid enough; it has a build quality similar to the stock cable for the TIN Audio T3, though maybe a bit more supple.
Does it sound good? Sure. Noticeably better than what they replaced? Not really. Do I feel cheated? Nah. Do I recommend them? Sure, if you're replacing a damaged cable or if you want to try balanced audio on the cheap. Otherwise, save your money. Buy a burrito. Get the guac.
I've had seriously good luck with the Tripowin branded cables. This Zonie performs just as good as the C8, and looks pretty slick. I can't attest to the staying power of these cables, but so far they've been doing their job admirably.
They're by far better than most all stock cables that come with ChiFi IEM and all of the IEM that Drop sells under $200. Don't expect sonic improvements unless your cables are complete and utter trash.
Tested the MMCX and 2-pin versions of the cables on Idun, Spring1, Form1.1, CP-3, Tape, EDC, and PX using the 789, LCX, CTH, LittleDot 1+, ZDT Jr., and ES100. Zero cable related problems, even if I had to adapt from TRRS to XLR4 or TRS. The compatibility of the IEM on the tube amps is a different subject.
So I love these! I bought 2, one 2.5 and one 4.4! The price is right for a pretty nice cable! They are super soft and flexible and flow like water.
the one thing I noticed is the individual wires aren’t very high quality. There’s little twists and swirls and what not all along the length of the cable. Nothing to serious but a bit disappointing since I saw nothing like that in the pictures but I don’t think it’s a problem. But that’s why 4 stars. Potential durability issue!
FYI they ship from China. Do to the timing of my order it took a very long time with the whole pandemic and all that.
I can’t speak highly enough of the Zonie. This cable feels very nice, it’s soft and tends not to tangle (though still can). It looks and feels very premium.
I use this with my Blon BL-03. Going balanced is highly recommend if you own an amp that supports it. It greatly improves the already awesome Blons, with more clarity immediately observable. Pair this with FiiO K3 or Radsone ES100, both have balanced output and sound incredible for the price.
I'm nowhere near the end-all-be-all of headphone knowledge, but I can say that immediately after switching to these I noticed something. I first used my MMCX cable to replace the Macaw GTS600 cable which had begun to fail. Not only does this cable feel nicer on my ears (and actually work consistently) but it definitely feels like I'm rediscovering something I had not heard before on some tracks. Not just MQA either, even 16/44.1 CD files feel like there is more to them. I'm playing everything through my LG V40ThinQ until I can get in a nice headphone amp fornmy desktop setup. I also have a two-pin cable from this Drop, but the recessed pins don't quite match up for the T2 Galaxy I planned to use it for. I'll probably end up buying the normal two-pin cable next time the drop opens up.
