Will this successfully cut a single layer of cotton quilting fabric without any fused interfacing, and do it without bunching?

Yes! This circle cutter is great for cutting a single layer of cotton quilting fabric. See a demonstration in this video:

Use the circle cutter on a self-healing cutting mat and rotate the cutter in one continuous motion to prevent the fabric bunching. You don't need to apply much pressure on the blade to cut the circles easily. Hope this helps!
