I am a scientist and work in a medical laboratory so, I am used to following procedures, to the letter. I had four blades to sharpen. I used the stones that came with the sharpener. The TrueSharp made the blades worse and as Jennifer stated, they would not cut through a single layer of fabric! Replaced the stones with the diamond stones and the top stone was difficult to place in its holder. Sharpened each again twice. A little improved but still not sharp. At all. Will try again starting with coarse diamond stone, then fine stone but, not hopeful. Their Youtube video is very misleading as the demonstrator grinds about 10 sec and the tool is quiet. I will be using ear plugs and I suggest anyone else using this to do the same. Extremely disappointed.

I just tried to use mine. I was very careful and followed the instructions to the letter. the product and packaging is messy. It is cumbersome to use. Extremely noisy. You have to hold the power button down and time the sharpening of the blade yourself. there are tiny replacement parts that I lost immediately because they sent them wrapped inside of a cleaning cloth. Very awkward product in my opinion. The idea is good but it needs a lot of work before its market ready. Not to mention that after all that the blade i sharpened wouldn't even cut through one layer of fabric. In the end I actually laughed at the absurdity of the whole thing. Completely useless waste of $50.00 Do not buy.

Made the mistake and bought it. It doesn't work- actually made my blade worse. Be careful on what you buy. Can't return it. I learned the hard way.

Great news group! The vendor has let us know that the group's order was picked up and is on its way to our warehouse now. Based on the tracking provided these are scheduled to come in 9/4. Our warehouse team has been forwarded tracking info and will be standing by, ready to get these packed up and turned around as soon as they come in.
Sometimes shipments get delayed en route, not to worry as we will keep the group posted throughout the process and notify you all if anything causes delay.

Thanks again for joining this drop! With your help we were able to make it successful for the community. We've just submitted the group's order with the vendor for the TrueSharp Power Rotary Blade Sharpener and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them directly to you! The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 9/10.

I was trying to "join" by using my paypal account, however when I clicked "join" it only took me to Paypal's website and nowhere to confirm my order! Help! Stuck!

That's correct. You should see the Massdrop logo above the paypal logo in the top right corner so you know it's for the drop. Hope that helps! -Sandy

Does anyone know if this actually works? the reviews on amazon are mixed...about half like it but many, many others think it doesn't sharpen at all, is extremely noisy and leaks oil and is messy. How to know if it's good or not, as I believe it cannot be returned if ordered from Massdrop.

KJR10915I bought one and was going to return it and they told me to keep it, it does not work, I threw mine in the garbage, connecting threads refunded my money to me.
