Last comment here on these, I will not be keeping them, they will go back to Amazon. They are somewhat scratchy and kind of mushy, replaced them with the CJ Dark Blue and damn, cant go back. (not even close of how smooth the CJ's are) Of course the purpose of these is silent but after the CJ's to me I cant justify them.

Just how good is this switch compared to Gaterons? Is the quality of these super good? I am new to switches but I just replaced my Gateron Reds. I have tried the Phoenix Gamakay but was too mushy and scratchy

These are very good dampened switches - among my very favorite - and I have tried nearly all of them. In terms of feel, they are smooth - and compared with most other silents, a good deal more crisp / less mushy. Generally, the TTC "dust-proof" silents are my favorite when it comes to feel - and sound, too. How quiet they are will depend a lot on the board you put them in; they have a more firm impact than most silents outside of the Kailh Box ones, but are still significantly easier on the ears than just about any non-dampened switch. In a dense case with much of its air space filled, these will be very quiet. In a hollow case with lots of space and/or walls that resonate, they will be easy to hear but not loud. Ironically enough, "thock" is a more accurate description of the sound these make than with just about any other MX-compatible switch. The onomatopoeia was first used to describe Topre switches, which these don't sound just like, but they are closer to that than most other MX pattern switches. I also think the sound these make is one of the most satisfying in the MX realm, alongside their tactile cousins the Silent Bluish Whites. So. Not the most quiet, but might be the most satisfying when it comes to sound and feel. One caveat with these clear-stem ones in particular: the stems on the V1s were a little small and these might be, too. If you find your caps sitting too loose, there is an easy fix: PTFE tape - the stuff for shower heads. It's substantial enough to hold but soft enough to give way before the cap is damaged. Just put a smidge of that on the cross mount before putting on the cap and you should be good to go.
