Wow, a lot of whiners here. Guess what, shit happens and sometimes you don't get instant gratification. MD does not control their vendors manufacturing schedules and statements like "You run out of plastic... Then put more plastic into the molding machines." show a broad lack of understanding of how production line manufacturing works.
Almost three weeks ago, MD communicated the delay (and offered two options for those not willing to wait). I'm not happy about the delay either, but its not like I didn't know about it.
Enough anti-rant, I'm going to go listen to my new MD-sourced K553's, a steal at $120 and shipped four days ahead of schedule.
With each delay we encounter on this drop, I tell myself there's less chance of some hastily-prepared batch with woeful QC being forced out the door too quickly. Or maybe that's just a silver lining I've invented to pass the time while I cling to this drop.
From a consumer relations standpoint, both of the other options offered by Massdrop were a fair enough way out. So I went in on another drop, those K553s. So far, unfortunately, I don't like them much, especially compared to my ancient Beyer DT770s. C'est la vie. At least they were delivered quickly.
Oh hi! Guess what? I took up one of the alternate options so I could actually get something delivered. Still nothing has arrived. People have every right to be upset about broken promises and perpetual excuses.
It looks like your order shipped on 4/14 and is currently in transit. It has quite a way to go across the pond and then some, but should arrive with you soon. If you have any issues please let us know and we will help in any way we can.
I never said that people don't have a right to be upset, but if they post their frustrations to a public forum then anyone in that forum has a right to publicly respond. I may have been a bit harsh, but I was getting frustrated with the circlejerk.
What did you go for? Different color or the Ostry?
