If I didn't just blow three grand on another piece, this one would be tempting.

I owned this model of watch but sadly had to sell it for a house re-model. This is a great chronograph watch. I own several Lemania 5100 watches and this has the same central minute function that I love. Yes it is blocky and big but the weight is low due to the titanium case and bracelet. This is not a GMT watch as the sub-dial at the 12 O'clock is an indicator of day and night and for adjusting the date function. If I were to do it over again I would go for the rotating bezel model. It's just a little more interesting and takes away from the block look. Great buy in my mind if you can handle the size proportion. I miss this watch in my collection.

"Battle-tested German engineering" isn't such a great trait, particularly when made since 1927. Just my two cents on the description...

The "GMT" hand is merely a day/night indicator, it is a slave to the main H and M hands and not indepedently settable, therefore not a GMT. This is a good price for a total in-house movment modification (to achieve the Lemania 5100 functionality from a 7750). I have an original Tutima commando, and they are great watches, with their flat pushers (which they invented in the 1980s).

Not my cup of tea, stylistically speaking, but it’s very nice to see Massdrop dabbling in a slightly higher priced segment of the market.

The comments have me confused, is this watch a GMT or not?

Tutima 521 movement is a modified Valjoux 7750. Excellent price for an excellent watch.

Badass. I had no idea Tutima we’re still producing a 5100 variant! If I had a spare $3K and access to some large prosthetic wrists I’d be all over this one. Very encouraging to find on Massdrop in any case.

The 7750 doesn’t get much love from the watch snobs—probably for being too common or ubiquitous, but its robustness and longevity are hard to dispute now. It’s an easy/affordable classic movement to incorporate into a collection and that’s a good thing.

Glashütte that would justify the price more than likely worth every penny but still too big even for my 8 inch wrist and the warranty is another issue manufacture would be nice

I don’t know but I’m seeing a gmt hand but it’s exspensive and enormous

No, it's all good. Doesn't help that Massdrop's description is wrong.
