I really like this watch. I have large wrists and the watch looks great on me. I really like the carbon fiber, titanium, sapphire crystal and rubber band. The watch is heavy and feels well-made. That said, there is room for improvement. At this price point, I expected some form of luminescence to see the hands in dark environments. Tritium would be great but would settle for less. Also, it would be nice if the teaser window that partially shows the movement would've been larger. Now, about performance. I wore the watch every day for a month before the butterfly clasp failed. In addition to the clasp falling apart, the band began to pop off the watch when light pressure was applied. Since then, I've tried replacing the band with after market bands and different spring bar pins and had no luck in keeping the bands on the watch. I'm not sure if I was sold a second or third in terms of quality but this seems to be an issue that shouldn't occur with a company that has been producing watches as long as U-Boat. I'm curious if anyone else has issues with their U-Boat watches. Had it not been for the clasp and band failures, I'd rate this watch a 5. This rating should probably be a 3 because I cannot use the watch with spring bar and prefer not to use NATO bands but I'm hoping there is a cost-efficient solution to the watch band issue.
