Hey guys, is it a good deal with a DT-990 pro 250Ohm? Thx
I'm purely speculating but I would say those cans would benefit from a higher output, lower noise DAC/amp than this NuForce. I would suggest at minimum the FiiO E10k v2 or the JDS Labs Objective + DAC.
Okay, but price is not the same.
I don't have the NuForce, but I can say my DT-770 250Ohm are definitely hard to drive. I use a Headpod 4, which is rated for 400mw @ 250 ohm, and it drives them painfully loud at half gain & full volume. The actual cans are rated for a max 100mw power handling. You probably want to be looking at amplifiers that aren't powered by the host's USB port with those cans.
No way, this has a super low power output.
That wasn't what you asked for :D I took the time to make this handy chart and BTW, the FiiO E10k V2 is actually CHEAPER than this NuForce (at retail, and street it's only $7 more).
Could you add the Audioengine D1 to that chart?
Excellent summary table! Please also add the DACport Slim, which is also being dropped now, as well as the DACport HD, available at http:///www.dacport.com
Do you know of any shops who still have the e10k at that price?
Will do. Feel free to fill in any spec blanks unavailable in the drop in a reply to this and I'll make sure to include them.
I bought one on Amazon just a few weeks ago for $115. Pretty sure there were on Massdrop for around $65 a few weeks ago. No one I know of has any in stock unfortunately.
Amazon has it back for $75
