Hi GlenR, as far as I can tell the connection issue only affected the very early manufacturing runs, and it wasn't really a problem with the earphones. Some sets had a sealant coating left on the cable pins which should have been removed in the factory, everyone who tried it reported that wiping the pins fixed the issue entirely.
