Is the new set still plagued by the overwhelmingly strong stink of rotting fish? The three sets I purchased are still unusable due to the ever present foul odor that renders anything stored in the container to a nasty demise. Rancid stinky smelly capsules of doom.

I made the mistake of buying three in the first drop. Barely better than repeating the same mistake three times in a row, but I like to pretend that it was a slightly less idiotic decision than continuing to purchase the vials after getting a whiff off the first one.

Congratulations! You received the actual North Korean exfiltrator field tested and quality assured units. You can take the capsules out of the NK body cavity, but you can't get the NK out of the capsules! /jk
The smell might be from a nitric acid "blueing" process used to treat the metal. Or, an acidified mineral oil lube? What does Countycomm have to say?

Be honest, the smell really went away? If so, you were lucky. Mine still stink, just like the containers of so many others on this thread, and I have tried your approach, as well as almost every other cleaner. I am disappointed that massdrop does not disclose this known problem.
