How this one compares with sennheiser IE80? I have the IE80, but don't like its sound stage. Should I get the UE900s to replace the IE80? Thank you for your answer!

LittleratWhat do you not like about IE80's soundstage? It has arguably the largest soundstage for sub $500 IEMs, albeit a bit dark. Perhaps proper amplification was not provide?

LittleratMe and my co-worker both owned an IE80 before and both pairs stopped working two months later (left driver died on mine and his one the cable). I don't like the sound anyway (too dark for me), so we never spoke about them ever since. My UE900 (non-s) still going strong nowadays, I upgraded with a silver plated cable w/ metal plug and comply tips. These are excellent on details and relatively less bass and sound stage, but sits flush (almost) to my ears. My personally favorite is my XBA-H3 (now-discontinued) for absolute sound and stage but much bulkier. Other alternatives I used before are the from AKG, Yamaha or Shure if you are interested.

OZ.Bloody.RabbitI also own and love the XBA-H3. Have you tried any other IEM's that compare well?

Nassau132Hi, I'm working from memory here as I have admittedly invested a lot more time ( and *cough* money too) into full size cans nowadays. However, doing a quick A-B (same source, gain, comply tips), the AKG K374, which some argued to be a baby K3003, has excellent sound stage and imaging, but slightly boomy lower mid/ upper bass and a tad laid back treble (less details and harmonics). Another one which left me a good impression is lesser known Yamaha EPH-100, compact/ micro driver and ("precision made" as their marketing team calls it) metal body, have a better details/ harmonics and more neutral/ balanced sounds, but relatively 2D. A few ATH ones also attracted my attentions before but I was too committed on full size cans by then.
