What exactly is the construction method, and how water-resistant is the boot in general?

PaLeeI have Josef Siebel Suede Leather shoes and they are of course not waterproof, but I'd say they are reasonably water-resistant... Even if they are drenched or damp, you just have to carefully dry them out. These boots are definitely not waterproof either, but they'd be fine walking on shallow-snow or when it is lightly raining. If you want long lasting wear, it would be better to pay (I assume) much less for real 'rough' boots. I think above all these are just fashion shoes.
I am however, also interested in more details about the construction.
