You guys at Massdrop need to space yourself out and give our wallets time to breathe.
Thankfully/unfortunately I'm one of those people that if you give me something smaller than a cellphone and worth more than $200 I'll find a way to break it or lose it in a few weeks.
Still, top-end IEMs are so tempting - so much less amping requirements vs something like the HD650. I can totally imagining someone pair a Dragonfly/Geek/HRT microstreamer with these and just call it a day.

DoctorXMost IEMs are pickier than HD650s (which are not exceptionally current-hungry at all!) due to nonlinear impedance and greater noise sensitivity

johnhopfenspergerThat's true in some ways. They are certainly significantly more sensitive to noise in the signal pathway, however most IEMs are easily amplified by anything as long as it has an output impedance as close to 0Ω as possible. As an example, the Fiio E17 (hardly a top of the line portable unit) I use with my iPhone with my current IEMs has a rated output impedance of less than 0.3Ω and is capable of driving my UEs without a problem, and with minimal noise (although walking under high-voltage power lines is an interesting experience).
