The resin beer mug has great color, consistency, and realistic transparency. The sides of the beer mug have a relatively rough surface from the printing process and a nice smooth glossy top to simulate the beer foam.
The black keycap that the beer mug is mounted on is low profile and has the same rough finish as the sides of the beer mug. Coloring is not quite as consistent here, some striping in the material is visible. The MX-style mounting stem underneath appears to be very delicate. Mine arrived and mounted without any issues, but from other reviews already left here I do worry about long term durability.
The overall keycap is very tall. Mounting this key to my keyboard has made me realize just how much "extra" space my other fingers need to hover beyond just the key I'm touching. My pinky and ring fingers tend to bump into it constantly when trying to hit any key in the upper left quadrant.
Edit 8/24/20: An interesting development. The top of the mug appears to be oozing a clear sticky substance. I cleaned it off once with isopropyl alcohol thinking something had dripped on it, but the stickiness returned again a few weeks later. I am guessing that the resin inside never fully hardened and it is migrating out through the seam around the top edge.
Like other reviewes, mine were broken too.
Actually I didn't have much expectation about the product, but real one was terrible than I thought.
Totally wasted time and money.
The stem literally shattered after a day on a cherry blue switch. The fit was super tight, I suspect the resulting pressure in the stem was too great.
It's a fairly high resolution resin print of decent quality. In person it clearly looks and feels like it wasn't polished or finished at all, so I'd call it a rough print. Which is fine, since it's just a desk ornament now.
I've replaced hundreds of keycaps before without issue, this is the first time I had one break during installation. I managed to fix it (that was difficult), it looks ....okay. This could've been executed so much better. Between the price point, extremely low quality, and the waiting period, I'm extremely disappointed. You could save money and time simply buying or re-purposing a keycap and adhering some doll furniture beer mugs to the top, and honestly, it'd end up looking better. This is embarrassing.
Like others have said, the beer mug seems fully intact, but the keycap portion on both is broken. It seems like these were made using some form of 3D printing (probably SLA or similar) instead of molded, which would probably be why the thin keycap section is so brittle.
I didn't have any of the problems that others have spoke about here. My cap came completely intact with no broken parts. The finish could be better, there's tons of flashing from the 3d printed bottom and the "glass" has print marks in it. I mounted it on a box jade switch and have had no issues with broken stems.
