A better lid should've been the priority. Washing the poorly designed lid is the greatest pain..

W8lkinUSAIt’s not ideal, but I haven’t had too many problems. Carry some sort of cleaning solution (Campsuds), some hot water and half a scrub sponge and Bob’s your uncle. Plus you can use it as a small drinking cup, or even fry an egg if you’re adventurous. ;)

MrTangentThe moments when a handle comes in handy for the 1L pot are the same moments when the top is cool enough to handle directly (e.g., stirring contents). I suppose handles are beneficial when adjacent to campfires, but I often find that the lid is far too cumbersome. When boiling water, quick use of a pot towel is more than sufficient. I've spent the last couple of weeks testing all cookware that I've purchased during the last year. Using the handle-less Vargo 1L ti bot this morning, I made salmon in clarified butter on a Svea 123 stove by merely holding the top of the pot directly. It was ready for french bread after adding parsley, cilantro, onions, avocado, and lemon. For me, the bot is most useful for cold-soaking dehydrated meals to reduce meal-prep time. When in the backcountry, water is precious. Therefore, using soap (Campsuds) as well as rinsing becomes wasteful. Ideally, shaking clean water through a few iterations followed by a quick wipe with a pot towel would be adequate for washing this pot. Without soap, one can easily drink the "flavored" water after the cleaning session.
