Would be great if Vargo created a companion cup that nested perfectly (no rattle!) over the bottom of this container. One with, say, 250-300ml capacity. Bonus points if it had matching folded handles, made from titanium and had graduated measurement markings. And maybe an optional lid. It’s all about the nesting! Bundle us, Baby!

MrTangentWhy bother when a Toaks 103mm/118mm bowl will suffice? I have plans to order the bowls over the next few days to test-fit my handle-less Vargo ti 1L bot as well as handled Vargo ti 700mL bot. Unfortunately, news won't be posted until after this drop ends.

MrTangentMy handle-less Toaks 550mL 95mm pot fits tightly and perfectly inside the Vargo 1L/700mL bots. Since the Toaks 550 is short, using every crevice within the Vargo bots can challenging. Therefore, the Toaks 750 pot inside the Vargo 700 bot would be better (note that the Vargo lid will not close when nesting this way). As far as Toaks bowls, I hope the 103mm would be a perfect fit for the Vargo 1L bot. Unfortunately, I cannot say with certainly until I purchase/receive the Toaks bowls. For reference, the Vargo bots have a outside diameter of 98mm. Therefore, I highly suspect that the Toaks 103mm bowls will have a tight fit. It might even be Vargo's intention to use this specific dimension. As a last resort, using a Toaks stuff sack for the Vargo will prevent the bot from rattling inside the larger Toaks 118mm bowl. Another reference.... Since the Toaks 115mm pots are designed to nest perfectly inside the Toaks 118mm bowl, the thickness the pots must be approximately 1.5-2.5mm. With this assumption, the smaller Toaks 103mm bowl would only have 2.5-3.5mm of gap; I doubt much noise would be made when nesting them.

MrTangentI meant to provide this link, but it slipped my mind. This is the closest video that I've found on the Toaks bowl. Unfortunately, he has the older model (fast-forward to 4:15). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOgjH2YeBpc

MrTangentJust as suspected, the handle-less bot nests within the Toaks 103mm bowl with ~3mm to spare. A packtowl or its mesh bag would eliminate rattles. I've tried squeezing the handled 700 bot into the bowl, but to no avail; it might work without its handles though. This newer 1000 HD bot should almost nest perfectly.. Take note of the 700's handle and the bowl's lip. I'd suspect the the 1000 HD will have its handles in the exact same position; that's a ~2mm overlap that a long dish towel should sort out.

W8lkinUSACan you elaborate a bit on the Toaks 550/Vargo 1L BOT nesting? Does the 550 fit all the way to the bottom of the BOT, or do the lips catch?

jkprowThe lips from the Toaks 550 will catch. Therefore, the Toaks will not reach the bottom of the Vargo.
