I just ordered everything I need to dye the opposite of this color scheme the other day. Funny how that works.
Anyways, really cool to see some custom PBT sets. Hopefully this becomes more of a thing.

GabisSeems like there's conflicting definition of "custom" keycap sets. This set is about as custom as any of the Vortex doubleshot sets that flooded the market. When ordering this set, the only thing "custom" is the quantity.
This is a single layout kit with 0 options. Rather disapointing after we've already seen ISO keys and plenty of bottom rows supported in the latest Blank PBT keycap drop.

WodanSo "custom" means it has to have a bunch of child packs and add-ons?
Can you buy this set anywhere else right now? No. That's what makes it "custom". It's a colorway that wasn't previously available, and now it is. And it is because someone from the community suggested it and worked with MD to get it produced.

GabisA very similar color way was being offered from Feng at Geekkeys before he transferred back to China, but they were Cherry profile PBT. I have been following this guys progress for a while now on GH and cyan was selected from many other colors, I'm glad to see it has hit this stage.

GabisWell "custom" to me means that a keycap set allows at least a slight degree of customization. The Blank PBT cap drop I was also mentioning as a great achievement came with a single option and did support a great variety of bottom rows and tab/shift/backspace configurations out of the box.
There's nothing wrong with having different definitions of what a custom keycap set is. I just opened this drop and had high expectations to find that Varmillo has gone full Vortex.

WodanI can understand that. It certainly would be nice if there were options, or more included caps, to allow for non-standard and ISO layouts.
But more keys means a higher price, and then you would have people complaining about having to pay for "extra" keys they don't need for their board. And options kits require MOQ's that, based upon the MOQ of 100 for this set alone, probably made them not feasible for this drop.
It's a balancing act and you're never going to please everyone. It seems like they aimed for the most common layout in order to make the drop as successful as possible while keeping costs as low as possible. Can't really fault them for that.
