I would love to see a TKL version. I just love how simple and amazing it looks, I personally don't use the number pad. It just takes a bunch of space. This is the best keyboard Ive seen. Hope I can buy one of these soon.
I bought the Varmilo Dragon Phoenix VA104M Mechanical Keyboard and initially it worked great. I'm on a Mac, so I got some mac modifier keys at maxkeyboard.com. The only problem with them is that the LED backlights shine brighter through these than the other keys. I may try to attenuate the keys somehow. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately I've run into a bigger problem: I used the traditional method of remapping the modifier keys to the mac layout (through the Keyboard panel in the system preferences) and all was fine for about 2 weeks. Then all of a sudden certain keys seemed to remap themselves. I reset the Keyboard mapping in the system preferences and this is what I'm left with (using Windows ID's):
Left Control is mapped to Caps Lock
Right Control is fine
Caps Lock is mapped to both Control keys
Both "windows" are mapped to nothing, unresponsive
Both ALT's are mapped to the "window" keys
I installed Karabiner - Elements and was able to remap the Caps Lock and Control keys to work properly, but both "windows" keys are still unresponsive. So now I basically don't have any Option keys.
I found several "fixes" online to reset the keyboard, but nothing has worked. Why was it initially working fine and then suddenly changed? HELP!
abernardiAfter much futzing around I was able to remap all the keys using Karabiner. One weird thing still is when I press Function and the right "Window" key together the keyboard blinks once and then I run back into the option keys not functioning. Anyone know why?
Hi All,
I've been using my Phoenix keyboard for a few days and I'm loving it. Thank you JadenSadow for the fn-x tip, I was fumbling around to find that. I'm using it on a mac. Does anyone know if I can get some modified keycaps that match the other keys and change the four modifier keys to Mac protocols?
Hello everyone, I just received my product today from the drop that ended in early December, I'm liking it so far, but I'm having an issue with the backlighting. I figured out how to turn it on (fn-X), but then read in the manual about different backlighting modes, and tried to activate them with (fn-[function keys]). This shut the backlighting off except for the capslock, numlock, and scrolllock, which seem to function independently. I input the reset code (fn-esc for about 4 seconds) and the breathing mode started working. It's functional, with the speed up and speed down functions working as intended, but I'm unable to change the mode now. Pressing (fn-F1) does not return it to the full backlighting like the manual says it should, and performing another reset just turns the breathing mode back on. So at this point, I'm only able to have it off or breathing, which is a little irksome. Am I missing something? I tried looking to see if there were updated drivers or anything, but the Varmilo website only lists one driver, and it's not for this board. Does anyone know how to fix it?
dalzHaha, this issue is from over a year ago. It eventually resolved itself without intervention ~4 months later. I knew how to control it, it just wasn't responding to inputs after the first use. It works now.
Hey so I'm new to mechanical keyboards and was wondering if anyone had recommendations to which switches would be best to start with. I'm sure everyone has personal opinions, but it's not exactly practical for me to test them all myself. Is there a good "standard" I should start with?

Krynulgo to a computer store nearby to test. worst case scenario go to bestbuy or something
Went for the Dragon here.
Of course it's with Clears, because what other selection to pick within this narrow range that was offered?
Was hoping they'll offer Zilents V2 version here, then it would be something to purchase on the spot without any delay.
JestercowYes. I don't see it as a problem.
I'm not a fan of Varmilo's fake wood grain on what is obviously black or white plastic, but when they at least try to colour it like wood, it can be aesthetic.
I have keycaps it could work with, so I hope it becomes part of customization options.
