Product Description
If these keyboards look awfully familiar, it’s because they were constructed in the same factory as the ever-popular Leopolds. Featuring nearly identical construction to the FC660M while adding in a navigation cluster and optional backlighting, the Varmilo Mechanical Keyboard lets you get close to the King without paying too hefty a tax Read More
For everyone following along at home it looks like we have:
- Your choice of switches, although quite expensive on the top end
- Your choice of PBT keycaps
- Available white backlight
- Low profile plastic case
- Costar stabilizers
- What appears to be standard spacebar mounting
- Limited company branding (which is great considering the comical nature of their logo)
Certainly its from a company you've never heard of, but a pretty solid board overall I'd say
Hell yes, a keyboard that has everything I was looking for. All Costar stabilizers, standard sized keys, TKL, and Cherry Browns. Optional LEDs and PBT keycaps are just icing on the cake. I'm so in.
Hi,
nice story you've written there, won't answer that. No more heat needed.
"Don't be snarky, just answer the question or ignore it and spare us your sanctimony."
Had to google sanctimony first, never to late to learn something new. Being snarky .... wasn't my intention. Maybe i'm to active in different communities, where people ask questions over and over again, just being to lazy, to find the answer for themselves in a few minutes and you had been the target of this "frustration". Nothing personal!
"No but seriously, I'm not the last person who isn't going to see something on massdrop."
This is a very good point, where MD could become better. i'm only here for mechas and usually people would like to see the same missing informations over and over again.
Stabilizers, a flipped/bottom up keycap, maybe a picture from the back and bottom of the keyboard. Sometimes missing, plate or pcb mounted ...
This could be easily solved by MD, just make better descriptions with more pictures and information and update the description on drops coming back regularly. This way we might not see the same questions on Varmilo drop number 10 and 200 pages to read and situations/comments like ours wouldn't even occur.
Unlike Leopold, Varmilo used standard stabilizer placement on this board. It is fully compatible with custom key sets. I'm using the Pulse key set from PMK on mine right now.
Ooh interesting...
Looking at that picture, theres a second set of holes in the plate (for the alternative stabilizer mounting), but it looks like they chose to go with standard spacebar sizing instead of the usual awkward stem placement. If that's the case, that is great.
@Andrew, could you actually measure the distance from the center of the spacebar switch to the center of the stabilizers?
Sounds anal, but I'm just trying to confirm since there are so many different stem placements for a 6.25 spacebar.

I just received this from the previous drop. My keyboard had the wrong color keycaps - I ordered black but received grey. I raised a support ticket. Backlighting is fine, although the grey keycaps are not backlight-compatible, but the spacebar was on backwards. I dont have time to fix it right now because we're in the middle of moving. I hope I won't need stabilizers, there were no spare keys or stabilizers in the box.
