Does anybody know if the backlight can be switched on and off with a function key? I'm thinking to get this as a gift and I'm not sure if they'd prefer backlight or not

ChuckLoadsI don't remember the exact key combination (think it's FN + up/down arrow), but it does let you control the backlighting brightness, and you can turn it off entirely that way too.
