So I'm typing this out on a fullsize Filco Majestouch Convertible II with Cherry MX Blues and some decent Vortex PBT front-printed keycaps. It's Bluetooth 3.0 and can hotswap connections between up to four devices. Includes a long removable miniUSB cable for direct interface and charging. Six months of battery life ─ basically infinite because of my very occasional need to plug it in when not using Synergy. No backlight, though.
It's been my office battlestation keyboard since last summer, and it's stone solid in terms of both reliability and performance. I use it to type on three Synergy-connected computers, my iPad and iPhone without lifting my hands. I'm tempted to get this smaller Varmilo for home but I'm wondering if it will compare. I'm guessing the battery life will be shorter because of the backlighting but beyond that... Any thoughts?

Wigdaddythere are very big differences between bluetooth 3.0 and 4.0 the main thing you will notice is almost no latency compared to the 3.0 which can be anywhere from a quarter to half a second long. after using this keyboard for a bit if you go back to the majestouch you will feel it is a bit sluggish. this keyboard can only handle 3 devices with hot swap capabilities. the battery lasts me about a month with constant back lighting of 25% so still very decent. You will be surprised to learn that the battery is probably about a quarter the size of the one in your majestouch as well there are ways to make the battery a lot bigger. It is a mod that i have been thinking about doing but haven't gotten around to it.

AntonyFaragWould love to hear about that mod whenever you get to it! I haven't really heard about poor battery life but I'm always worried about the day the li-on battery craps out. Finding out how to replace the battery would definitely be useful.
