cheek_angThis is a two-pack and when it hits the low, it's actually only ~$22.50 per t-shirt. Which is a really good price for these shirts.

ShudderbirdWhat's so special about them? They are just plain colored cotton shirts.

adam4163It has to do with the origin and weight of the cotton used as well as the quality/standard of manufacturing (which is second to none due to the shirts' tubular knit, which essentially means there are no side-seams-- it is more expensive to manufacture shirts this way). The shirts are also made right in the USA. "Originally founded in 1932... Velva Sheen was a well-known sportswear brand that made clothing for sports teams, colleges, and the U.S. military for a good portion of the 20th century. Today, the company lives again, thanks to a California-based company that reproduces Velva Sheen’s vintage looks."
Velva Sheen's shirts are in a different ball park to say Hanes ComfortSoft and cater to a completely different market; those who truly care about what they're wearing, where, and how, it was made, out of what materials, etc. It's either something you're into or you aren't. Let it also be known that they are meant to be incorporated into your outfit, not simply worn underneath a dress-shirt (they are much too heavy for this use). Compare these to your average $30-40 graphic tees which are, in comparison, made with cheap materials and are most likely manufactured in China. As mentioned prior, the fit of these is far superior to your average shirt as well.
You can find these shirts on sites such as Indigo & Cotton as well as Hickoree's, who are selling them at retail of around $70 (2-pack). $44.99 is a steal for two of these shirts ($22.50 each).
