I STILL cannot fathom why these are so popular, I TRIED to give mine away and everyone would listen for five minutes (after trying unsuccessfully to get them to sit comfortably in their ears) and declined saying they had some JVC gummies that were just fine.
Reading the reviews gives a clear reason as to why it's divided...
Simply put, your ear is dopey.
Mine, my son's, my wife's, and three of my friends? Statistics is on my side here. Monk is 0/5 of people I have actually met...
And even after I shove them into my ears and suffer through the uncomfortable fit, the sound is meh. I'll take my ~$20 anker bluetooth IEMs over these 8 days a week.
But honestly, I''m extremely happy with my TFZ King Pros and have little real need for a budget ear bud, but if I wanted a budget ear bud this would be the last thing on my list.
Statistics on your side?

I picked these up from amazon, the type with red/blue foampads. The sound isn't up to what I have with my now rather worn pair that came with the original Sansa Clip. The foampads are horrible but easily replaced, but my main problem with them is the weird noise from the cables (or is it the plastic in the housing?). It's like wind noise in a microphone.
So, as of yet, I still don't have something to replace my Sansa pair when they eventually break.
Could be you received a counterfeit pair?
Maybe. They're still available om amazon though, unless amazon have been changing what their "past orders" link to.
Unlikely, as they were "shipped and sold by Venture Electronics" through Amazon. I would also doubt there were many counterfeits of the espresso limited edition.
Amazon has a huge counterfeit problem, especially for cheap Chinese electronics.
