To anyone that missed this drop and wants a Mach 4 manual mechanical, Amazon has it right now for $325 with Prime shipping. It's only $25 more than the last drop price ($299), you don't have to wait for the drop to come again and you don't have to wait three months to receive it.

Just got my Mach 7. Took 3 weeks to ship to New Zealand. Got a manual with it(but does not look like is for Mach 7) and a card for 3-year international warranty(with no details filled out so I don't think it counts). Will upload pics after getting off work.

I posted a couple of questions earlier regarding this watch, which I purchased, received, and like very much. However, Massdrop has not publically answered two very important questions, which frankly is unprofessional.
According to Victorinox, all of the Airboss Mach 4 watches they manufacture leave their facility with the instruction booklet, and clear plastic covers on both sides of the dial. My watch did not include an instruction book, and did not include the clear plastic cover on the back.
I would like Massdrop to tell us why.
Also, are these watches new, first quality, or are they seconds, B-quality, or anything other than brand new?
And finally, why does Massdrop not offer a warranty (beyond their 30 day period) of some type, on all of their watches?

Regardless of the where MD gets their Victorinox watches, according to V., ALL of their watches leave their facility with operating manuals, and in at least the case if the Mach 4, with plastic cling protectors on front and back. I assumed that the V. watches offered here are new old stock, but all of this does not explain why no operating manual is included...assuming the watches are brand new.
There is no reason MD's sources should remove the operating manual and plastic clings, and sell them to MD as new.

cgalnyI got my Mach 4 today and it did include the protective film on the dial crystal, but not on the exhibition caseback. Also, no printed manual, just a plain paper stub, printed in black and white, with a "go green" message and two URLs... but, suspiciously, the second URL was cut off with scissors, meaning that second URL probably identified the vendor where MassDrop got the watches. It's not unheard of that some gray-market vendors remove manuals to make the shipment as light as possible. Duty Free Island even sends watches in generic pouches and charge an extra fee if the customer wants the original box. The Victorinox Alpnach I bought here did come with the manual.

I have a question for fellow purchasers of the Mach 7 version... How steadily does your 24-hour bezel stay in place?
Mine rotates very smoothly and I can hear it clicking when setting with the 2nd crown, so I'd assume it's a "set-and-hold" mechanism. However, once the bezel is set, it won't stay in place too well. It can often get displaced by the wrist touching the crown. If this is by design, I'd prefer that crown to be a little tighter so it wouldn't be affected by the wrist movement.

arman-hIt does not move a bit, only when i move it. That's my watch, i can't say anything about all of them.

Here's an idea for all the Airbosses out there :-) Deployant clasp! Have it from the factory on my Alpnach, got this one from china/ebay/whatever. Good quality, $6.99. Looks great, and will prolong the life of the strap if you like it. Be sure to get a 20mm one because the original strap tapers from 22mm->20mm.
All the best!

The 20mm will fit but snug. It won't damage the bracelet. I have it on mine. 21mm will probably be loose.

Micky99Thanks for the reply. There may be a slight difference in the widths of our claps that makes the difference. If the buckle that I purchased was 0.2mm wider, it would fit (albeit snugly). The way it stands now, the clasp bends and cracks the strap. Any chance you can paste the link to shop where you got yours from?

My Mach 4 arrived today, August 1; the receipt indicates it was shipped July 26, and the shipping label indicates UPS Smartpost (or whatever it's called), which means it came USPS. I have purchased many new watches from professional retail vendors over the years, and don't recall any of them arriving USPS, except for perhaps very low-priced watches. MD should have shipped via regular UPS or FedEx, the latter I believe being the most common method.
Regarding the watch itself: I really really like it. I love large mechanical wristwatches, and this one is special. The mainspring must be gargantuan, because it took about a million turns of the crown to fully wind it...so many that I was beginning to think there was something wrong. It's beautiful. The strap is very nice, and will fit a wrist of up to approximately 8.5 inches comfortably.
The watch and strap look absolutely brand new.
However, and here's where something isn't quite right. I called Victorinox U.S.A. watch customer service, 800-442-2706, and inquired about a few things. There is a slot in the box for the instruction booklet; however, it's not there, just a small slip of paper advising owners to look online. There is the customary protective clear plastic cover on the face of the watch, but not on the back.
According to V. customer service, ALL of the Mach 4's include the instruction booklet and the plastic covers on the case AND on the back of the watch.
I'm not sure I would have bought the watch if I had known about this. Yes, I love the watch, yes, I'm being picky, and yes, it looks brand spanking new. But based on what V. told me however, I'm wondering if these watches are "B" quality, rejects, or something else.
I will wear it every day for the next 30 days and make sure it's absolutely perfect. If I have the slightest doubt, I will send it back. And I will think twice and thrice about buying another watch from MD.
I have two questions for Massdrop: why is there no instruction booklet, and why is there no plastic cover on the back?

cgalnyI didn't even get any papers at all with mine or even the paper you speak of. Nor did it have a tag on it which i thought was strange. Anyone else?
