A Solid Quartz Chronograph
BUILD: The XLS is no small watch. Coming in at 45mm for the case, the watch is definitely large. Ensure that a 45mm watch will suit your wrist type. Additionally, the XLS is not a tremendously light watch either. The watch definitely has some heft to it. That being said, the weight is not unreasonable, and my wrist has never been uncomfortable when wearing the Chrono XLS. The case itself and the pushers ooze quality. The dial looks great with its raised numbers. There is certainly no doubt that this is a Swiss watch. THE STRAP: It is worth noting that I never used the stock stainless band. I have only used a ZULUDIVER NATO rubber strap from the onset. I have found that the watch works great with NATO straps. NOTE: If you buy a new strap, buy a 22mm strap. The description puts the lug width at 20mm, but this is inaccurate. You may notice that in the pictures my strap is 2mm too smaller than it should be because of inaccurate description. FEATURES: The Chrono XLS has as many features as you could reasonably want from a chronograph. The timing function works well and is extremely accurate in my testing. similarly, the time on the watch is also very accurate. The split timing feature is a nice touch. One gripe I have is the luminescence. The hands and number indicators are fairly dim and don't hold light for very long. TLDR: Victorinox makes some sharp timepieces and the Chrono XLS is no exception. The overall quality is excellent. The features work well and the movement is accurate. Just ensure that you want a larger watch on the hefty side if you opt for the XLS. All elements considered, this watch is a great daily driver and a solid choice for anyone wanting a quality chronograph without stepping up to full mechanical territory.

Outstanding watch. I’ve gotten many compliments on this watch. It feels solid and sturdy. Would have loved to had the option of a black leather strap with white stitching.

Watch is really nice, but not a fan of the band. It feels cheap.

So far I love the watch. Very handsome and I’ve gotten a few compliments on the look. The watch is definitely on the heavy side but that’s fine with me. It seems very solid so I hope it will last me a very long time. Looks exactly as the one pictured in the ad. Thanks.

Just received my watch. Had to have one link removed from the band but very happy with the watch. Feels good on the wrist and also looks classy. Question for drop members. The winder just keeps turning so no screw in function. Have I got that right and is it waterproof with that situation existing. I also cant find the number code on the watch list sent with the instructions. Is this my ageing eyes or have others noticed the same omission. Look forward to others expert advice on these matters. Best wishes from Australia to all members/participants of the drop.

WindowsWhen you say winder I assume you mean the crown. While I don't know the answer regarding the XLS, there are conversations on various watch forums about whether watches are truly waterproof without having screw-down crowns. Among the best answers I've seen is this comment: "I believe a lot of Fortis watches don't have screw down crowns despite the depth rating of 200m in some cases. The Sinn U1000 has a WR of 1000m despite having non screw down pushers that can be operated underwater.I seem to remember reading ... that it's not necessarily the screw down crown that maintains the water resistance but the seals in place between the crown and the case. In most cases the screw down crown is there to stop the crown being moved/altering of the time whilst underwater which could be a serious problem if you were relying on it to time your dive. "
In my experience, I've had a crown rust out because it was inadvertently pulled-out while underwater (though briefly). The screw-down would seem to focused on preventing that from happening (opening the valve, so to speak).
