I received this watch about a month ago, and have been loving it so far. However, today the second hand started jumping in four second increments, every four seconds. It appears to be keeping time correctly, but this seems like either a defect or battery issue. Anyone have knowledge or experience with this?
Just got my watch in Malaysia from the last drop. Package was well packed and the original box arrived without any damage to it at all.
The watch itself looks much better than the stock pics on Massdrop. The light catches the steel and the dial in such a way that it gives off a "high quality" effect. The studio pics here don't seem to reflect this very well. The multi coloured hands aren't very noticable if you look at the watch when your wrist is at 90 degrees to your body. It doesn't look cheap at all and is definitely worth the price here.
The Lume on the watch isn't great but that's a trade off I'm willing to live with at this price point. Mine arrived with no defects (thus far-still checking) and the battery seems to be running fine. I kinda like the NATO strap as it adds more ruggedness to this watch and suits its look better than the chain link IMO.
The machined aluminium on the body is very smooth and very well done with absolutely no defects or jagged edges at all that I can see. Printing on the bezel is good and everything seems to be nicely done and smooth.
This watch is worth its value IMO. Feels and looks a lot more than its worth here.
UPDATE: Looks like I discovered a minor issue with the watch. The Lume on the 12, 1 and 2 are significantly and noticably dimmer than the rest of the dial. This kinda sucks but the rest of the watch still works and looks fantastic.
My watch just arrived.
Surprised to see the second / sweep hand moves in 4 or 5 second increments rather than single seconds.
Besides being annoying, it means timing anything by the second is rounded to the nearest 4 or 5 second increment. Disappointing.
Is this jerky movement normal for the watch, or is it a malfunction of some kind?
Djw1066Change the battery - second hand jumping in five second intervals is a sign in certain models of a dying battery. Check the manual if one came with it.
Pretty poor effort if the vendor is sending out watches without putting new batteries in them.
25th Jan: Mine showed up today, has the same issue straight out of the box. Replaced the battery and it's working right as rain.
It's a sharp looking watch, has the best bezel action I've come across in ages, nice and tight but not stiff. Not sure about the colour scheme on the extra strap, but they are really nice quality. For a hundred bucks this is a great deal.
