If I get it well, it means 350 USD for a low intensity flashlight that tells time?
P.S: don't want to think of the battery durability in those... Keeping in mind that generally speaking, I have a feeling that changing batteries on quartz watches isn't the most risk-free process, with some quartz movements reportedly starting to show issues after changing their batteries?

AleskbThis watch actually has two batteries - one for the light, and one for the movement.
Changing batteries is expected for most quartz watches, just like how remote controls need batteries replaced. There's not much to go wrong unless the caseback and gasket gets put back on wrong, in which case it's the fault of the repairer.

DigitalseaThat's the case on paper, but some quartz model watches are commonly known to die out after they get their battery changed. This is for example the case for many Citizen ecodrive movements, including the one on the legendary Nighthawk. Thankfully, as it's an ecodrive, the batteries last ages, but when they die, for many it meant throwing the watch to the trashcan.
This being said, I agree that with most quartz movements, this shouldn't be the case. Changing the battery remains however a time where the watch is manipulated, thereby increasing risks of something "going wrong" in the process, versus the watch just sitting on your wrist. This happened to a Louis Pion that I was offered by my father. When the battery died, sent it for change. It came back with a new battery and a weird problem with its hands, it's the hours and not the minutes hand that turns when I try to set the time. Wasted...

I saw this watch yesterday at a local jewelry store. It's a nice looking watch and well made, but way overpriced IMHO. It's basically a $200 watch with an LED flashlight. Plus, I can't imagine how quickly that would drain the button battery...
One press of the button lights the watch face; two presses of the button turn on a (very small/dim) flashlight facing out from 12 o'clock; three presses of the button activates a strobe effect from the outward facing flashlight.
EDIT - Sorry for restating how the lights work... I should have read MD's description first. I did like the natural rubber strap though.
For that price... um... I will prefer to pay my cousin to take the bus to downtown, grab a bag of G-shocks and mailed it back to me across town. That way I got more watches to change everyday with equal or outperformed and still saved up money to treat him for dinner later.

It's got a nice outdoorsy aesthetic, I'm sure it's solidly built, well finished, and I've got no beef with quartz field watches (I own and wear several). That being said, just how much value does the light add? This price seems completely outlandish, even for Swiss-made. Comparing it to other Victorinox brand watches, you can buy the Victorinox Infantry Automatic with an ETA movement (or two of the quartz versions) for less, and they're water resistant to 100m. The 500m rated Victorinox Dive Master (quartz) is even more robustly built, can be had with a nice PVD case and OD green rubber strap, and also goes for significantly less

I have one of these for my outdoor sports i.e. Mountain biking , trail riding , jet skiing and snorkelling and i like it , How ever i do prefer my automatic watches over this one. But still it is a nice watch and serves a purpose for me.

LovecraftianNice photo, i was only trying to point out that it is a good outdoor watch, i wasn't trying to blow my own trumpet if that is how you read it.

water resistant to 50m? This is not an outdoorsman's watch. Not even close to the military pretensions it's aesthetic implies.

I have the polished version on a SS bracelet. I love my night vision. The led light for the dial looks great, and the multiple functions for the built-in flashlight are useful and cool.
And the Ronda movement is pretty accurate.

Benson23I feel bad for crapping all over someone else's "cup of tea". I really do. But, Benson23, you have to look at what else is available to you at this price point. I would say most watch enthusiasts value mechanical movements over quartz movements. That said, if it is a quartz movement, it had better be solar-powered and-or kinetic-powered and-or offer numerous features like a Suunto or G-Shock.
But really. Come on, Buddy. Come on over here to the mechanical watch world.

LovecraftianInteresting.
Not sure how what I said equated to me not liking mechanical watches. I just stated that I enjoy my Night vision very much.
I do own a number of automatics though. Not that there is anything wrong about preferring quartz watches. I love watches, in general.
I appreciate your remorse for crapping on my cup of tea though. Truly.

A butt-ugly quartz watch for $299.99? It retails at $695.00? Go home, Victorinox. You're drunk.
