In 1891, when Victorinox founder and master cutler Karl Elsener supplied the Swiss Army with its standard-issue soldier’s knife, little did he know he’d be laying the foundation for one of the most trusted names in the watch and cutlery industries. With white hands and markers and a predominantly white dial, you would think the Officer’s Chronograph would be hard to read—but the opposite is true. Thanks to the recessed, textured dial and subdials, not to mention the offsetting black numerals, the watch is clear and legible, without being in your face.
