FYI no VESA mount, which makes this completely useless For my application and most others. The stand sits 3 inches off the desk with no height adjustment. I returned mine...
jaysinsactually that only applies to the microboard m340clz and any monitor that uses the same shell as it, since it has a vesa mount it's just recessed but the viotek does not have a vesa mount, though it is fairly easy to add a mount if you have a power drill or access to one, and ive explained how in another post for any interested
rhenomYour comment is worthless, my original message was intended to let people know the Monitor has no vesa mount so they didn't learn the hard way and purchase one like I did. Having a Vesa mount is something on almost all current monitors have

budget or High end. If your going to open your trap make sure you have something worthwhile to contribute. And FYI I do have the ROG on my other set up and personally like the Microboard better.
based_donutIncorrect my friend, these are not the same shell, I had both and can tell you 100% they may appear the same but are completely different. The panel is the same but that is it. Stand, Mount, Shell are all similar but not the same... Bezels are completely different as well...
Gondeep11I stand by my statement. Cheaper monitors often are cheaper because they include a cheap stand that doesn't have full adjustment or a VESA mount. If you want those features then feel free to buy a more expensive product that has them. Saying that this monitor is "worthless" is just being mean and makes me think you have some sort of axe to grind because you didn't research what kind of mount it had in the first place.
Tex-ArozziThanks Brother.... This was before all the wire management... I couldn't wait to get a pic snapped lol... Monitors are now up off the desk... Just need some decent powered speakers Any suggestions are welcome, total novice at the audio stuff..
rhenomAre you in the media?Cause your doing a fine job of taking things out of context... My comment, which you failed to read after "Worthless" Said for " My application and most others" there's a huge difference and I only have one axe to grind at this point...
Gondeep11JBL LSR305 are probably the best powered monitors you can get for a reasonable price. They show up on MD from time to time at a pretty good price if you don't mind waiting for it to drop again. Worth every penny everyone else is charging though.
Don't bother with crappy Logitech or other "Computer" speakers, they look neat, but sound small, because they are small.
Depending on how much you like bass, you can also supplement them with a subwoofer, although I would try them out before I bought one to see how you like it without.
Gondeep11For desktop audio I would recommend the Creative Sound Blaster X Katana system. It is amazing. We will be dropping it here on Massdrop again soon at a pretty good price. I have been using it for a while now. Awesome.
Gondeep11many many monitors do not have vesa mount, and instead of running your trap about others running their trap you can create your own vesa mount for the monitor and be more civil. I have made many unique mounting solutions for monitors at work because I use resources that are laying around, including monitors from the IT dump on the floor pile.
I think it is intersting you also have the ROG and the Microboard, and you enjoy the microboard better, would you be willing to go into the details of why you enjoy that monitor better? I think the usability of the english OSD out of the box was a nice touch for the Viotek, though I think the lack of proper DP cable was a definite drawback and a trap that could leave some people experiencing a lower quality than they assumed they would be getting simply due to their use of an hmdi cable thats included.
ResistImpulseThanks for your input.... This conversation is not worth my time... Have fun scrapping parts for your VESA Mounts on a $500 Monitor... Nice touch is including a VESA Mount not setting OSD to English, It's not that difficult to quickly navigate thru the menu to change from Korean to English or do a quick google search...
Gondeep11Whats a nice touch is being unbiased and informative in a group buying community instead of berating others for holding different value concepts with their dollars. GL in life bro bro
