Epos7I don't think scissors will completely remove the white strip. Maybe with an X-Acto knife or similar.
Also they're $55 on Amazon with free returns, and the reviews say they fit kinda weird.

SirNukeThose are not the same, they don't have the rubber expand at the top of arch, and no leather lining. Yes these have to be broken in a bit, especially if one has wide feet. Those rubber [elastic] expand on the top comes handy in this case.
