IanAndersonWould you (or anybody else) be able to compare the sizing of these to Rivieras? They're also only available in whole sizes, the US9 (that I own) is too tight for me and the US10 was loose (I have very narrow feet) so I thought it'd only get worse with time. It's okay wearing them (US9) at the start of the day but any walking and it becomes a PITA. Wouldn't want that to happen with another pair again. :)
Why are espadrilles only made in whole sizes? These, Rivieras, Castaner, all others I've come across. Oh well.

payodpandaTotally feel you on the sizing for Spain-made espadrilles. The reason for that being is that most of these styles tend to stretch and mold to your feet as you break them in. Cheap espadrilles tend to be sized small so you stretch and 'grow' into them, but these are higher quality ones as well as the Castaners (not familiar with Rivieras myself) and are best sized at the person's true size or sized up when between sizes.

TomasVThanks for replying!
>these styles tend to stretch and mold to your feet Would this not mean that one should size *down*, and not *up*, so that the shoes can stretch and mold to your feet? Since you're saying that these are higher quality espadrilles that are not sized small, wouldn't sizing up make them too loose?
I'm sorry I just became confused. I realize that every place I've checked recommends sizing up half if in between sizes, but (in my mind) your statement contradicts that suggestion unless I'm getting something wrong. ^^'

payodpandaThat is correct. In the case of these espadrilles (and all of Viscata lineup for that matter) the recommendation is that you size up when in between sizes (for example i'm a size US 9.5 in the Brannock, and i'd go with a size US 10 on these). What I was trying to say before is that these are made a little bit better in terms of structure and materials, and also Viscata (and most quality Spanish espadrille makers) have adjusted their sizing not to confuse people and make sure they can go with their regular size. They did this by making each size just a bit snug instead of asking people to size down, which is confusing for most folks trying out espadrilles for the first time. Seems like we're both the same size (about a true US 9.5) and i'd still suggest you go with the 10's. Thanks again for your interest on this drop! :)
