Product Description
The flagship model from Italian pen maker Visconti, the Homo Sapiens Bronze Age Oversize is a collector’s item with a commanding presence. It’s handmade with hardened basaltic lava from Sicily’s Mount Etna: the tallest active volcano in Europe Read More
Excellent pen. Unfortunately, it is one of the "newer" ones with solid gold plated nib. The photos of the drop were showing bi-color one.
Overall, - excellent product from Visconti.
I love this pen. I got the fine nib, and it is definitely a wet writer. If you plan on using this on the daily to fill out documents and forms, get the EF nib. Otherwise, for taking notes, signatures, and other things, the fine nib is good. Have to leave a little drying time after writing, a few seconds, otherwise you will smudge the writing. Looks and feels amazing in the hand, nib has a very light feedback, definitely less noticable than my pelican m200, which is a bit more scratchy, but not as wet of a writer. Also, the ink capacity on this thing is massive.

I’m a little disappointed.
I wanted this pen and overall I like it. However, the barrel is much more “pitted” and grayish than the product photos would make you believe. I’ve zoomed in some photos from other retailers and I can see this detail on close inspection, but the reality is very obvious whereas in the photos it looks subtle. If I didn’t expect otherwise, it would make me think this was a not-good-enough for retail reject/less-than-ideal “outlet” store version....
The pen arrived with the new rose gold nib. I wanted the two tone nib, which is what was advertised by the pictures. Had I of known, I wouldn't have gotten it.
I am disappointed in the false advertising. I don't know if I would could trust this again.
There are many videos on “the tube” talking about quality control and I knew it may be a risk. Good news. The one I received is absolutely perfect. Couldn’t be smoother. I’m in love.
Watched this pen for a long time, went to pen shops to play with it on numerous occasions. i couldn’t justify owning the pen at MSRP and even online retailers didn’t have a huge mark down on it. When I bought this pen on massdrop it saved me about 50$ over the cheapest prices I had seen anywhere else.
On to the pen, writes like a dream, feels good in the hand, and carries a ton of ink. My bronze has started to slightly change colors and now has some personality. Whipping this pen out to sign documents makes you feel like a BOSS, exactly what I wanted.
TeensierPythonYes ... this is a fabulous pen. I bought one at a discounted price over the Holidays and had to wait for the backorder to be filled. It was certainly worth the long wait. The basalt body is usual, to say the least. Not your everyday writing tool. The Dreamtouch nib is pretty much what people say it is - lovely. And the advice to get a finer nib than you might usually was certainly true for me. My "fine" writes like most of my other "mediums." By reputation, this is a wet writer. I've also heard complaints about the amount of ink it holds, but this appears to be a filling issue. The solution is to go through the filling process twice: pull out-press in ... repeat. It's a lovely writer. If it's in your budget, do it.
