the frame is pretty substantial but the desktop is a plastic-clad MDF product. One of the screws anchoring the desktop to the frame had stripped out the MDF (which is an inferior but very common and cheap material), making it slightly loose and lopsided. Real wood or even plywood would have been a better choice for a device that, by its design and function puts stress on screws anchored into a material like MDF. It would have cost more, sure, but quality will always be sacrificed to pad the manufacturer‘s margin.
