As someone who can afford a $140 headphone stand, I wanted this headphonestand and will probably buy it from the manufacturer.
Seriously guys, this is 10x better than the popular Sieveking stand. Spare it.

To the people commenting on the price being too high, please keep in mind that a display piece such as this is made for any headphone, but marketed more-so to the demographic that has already spent thousands on their headphones (high end headphones, paired with amps, dacs, the works). There is an Audiophile section in this website because there are a fair number of people who will justify the cost for something the want.
This argument is like saying Vossen wheels are unreasonable. Sure, for a car that costs the same as a set of their wheels... but they are primarily luxury wheels for luxury cars.

We could all buy one of those rubber-coated hooks at Home Depot and screw it into the wall next to our desks and hang our headphones on it. This product is not for those people. It's for those people who appreciate beautifully designed things made from quality materials. We are not in business to sell headphone stands to everyone, we only want and need a few customers who appreciate what we are offering.
We're not dudes building things for our buddies for free. We are a business, and we work very hard in a fully equipped woodworking shop to produce products for our customers. We have overhead expenses, cost of materials, and we wish to make a profit on our products so we can continue in business.
Your woodshop teacher would love to have just one student who went on to use the skills they were taught to design and build a product like this and to make a living doing it. Ask him.
I wish more people could appreciate the costs involved in running a business like Volti Audio. I wish they could also appreciate the time it takes to make a product like this headphone stand. The many hours of design and sourcing materials. Planing and joining the raw hardwood, shaping and sanding, sanding, sanding to get it perfect. Drilling holes and installing inserts. Setting up a proper spray shop to put several coats of clear lacquer on. Cutting and bending the internal metal plates, foam padding, posts, then carefully cut from a template and install the leather. Hardware is bagged, the pieces wrapped in foam, instruction sheets inserted, all in custom made boxes to be shipped out.
If you think it's ugly, that's fine, but why post that? What purpose does that serve? If you can get a buddy to make one for you for thirty bucks, fine, but why post that? What's the point? If you think it's too expensive, fine, but don't you understand that it isn't too expensive for everyone? All you're really telling us is that you don't want to spend that much for a headphone stand. It's stating the obvious - most people will not spend $140 on a headphone stand. We all understand that.
The rude, hateful, unnecessary comments are hurtful to me, my wife and our employees. Please try to understand and think of others before you post comments like this.

VoltiI'm sure anyone could build a stand like yours... if they had several years to spend learning all the necessary skills, finding a source for quality wood, and probably loads of other things I can't think of now. It's seemingly well built and pleasing to the eye (seemingly because I've never seen it in real life), and that's cool
While I appreciate the aesthetics of the product, honestly I'm not able to justify it for myself, solely on price. And that's cool too. I agree with you, if anyone can't understand spending that much money on a stand, no harm no foul. No need to be disrespectful.

VoltiI love this headphone stand and would love to see it make a proper Massdrop drop. Sadly I feel the price is high for most people. Personally I love the way this product looks and will operate. Cue all the people claiming they can build an equally good headphone stand for 1/10th the price. This is quite beautiful, and if I had a requirement for aesthetics, I would get this headphone stand.

Ouch.. another 'pricey' headphone stand. While I appreciate that fact that it is handmade and crafted, I just can't bring myself to spend almost $140 on a headphone stand. This is just my opinion of course, purely subjective. I'm sure this is a quality product that will make new owners that purchase this happy. But I can't do it.. :)
