The long awaited POK3R Mechanical Keyboard from Vortex brings a serious set of improvements to the world of 60% keyboards as well as its predecessor, the Poker II. The good news is all of the aspects of the Poker II that made it the clear choice of the mechanical keyboard community—specifically the minimalist form factor, Cherry MX Switches, and PBT keycaps—are exactly the same Read More

pretty good keeb
The first ever 60% keyboard ive ever gotten and its what introduced me to the world of 60% keebs and now i cant go back as of right now i dont use it anymore and its more of a display piece than anything! Mainly because i decided to grab a HHKB pro2 and have been using that for a year now. If ur planning on getting a 60% the poker 3 is not a bad choice!

Great starter mechanical keyboard.
Back when I became interested in mechanical keyboards, I immediately was attracted to the 60% form factor. I valued the compactness that it offered. The Pok3r at the time seemed like an attractive option, offering cherry mx switches all wrapped up nicely in an aluminum case, and with PBT caps, to boot. It had already been out for several months, but this was one of the first times it had appeared on (mass)drop. While I've moved on to more and more extravagant custom builds, the pok3r holds a dear place in my heart as the one that started my journey into the rabbit hole of mechanical keyboards. The build quality is quite good, and out of the box it works fine as a daily driver. Getting used to the function layer for everything took a while to get used to, but I was willing to learn the shortcuts. If you're unwilling to deal with the fact that you will have to make some compromises in terms of general usability, then you should stay away from the 60% form factor in general and instead look at TKLs or 75% boards. The aluminum case is durable, and has survived years of constant shuffling around and being stuffed into a bag alongside a laptop. Depending on the age of your pok3r, you may want to flash updated firmware from the vortex website since the bottom-right corner (fn, pn, ctrl, shift) can now double as arrow keys should the need arise. Overall, the keyboard is a solid foray into the world of mechanical keyboards. While there are cheaper alternatives nowadays, for the combination of an aluminum case, pbt caps, and cherry switches, the pok3r is still a great value, and has expanded to include the pok3r rgb variants which may suit those who desire lighting on their keyboard.

Great build quality and fantastic materials. really enjoy typing on this, decided i can't use for a daily driver though, as i miss the arrow keys and del. I know i can use FN to use them, but it breaks my flow just enough to be aggravating and time consuming, but that has nothing to do with the actual product. If you like 60% keyboards, this is a gem! It really showed me the value of a mechanical keyboard with good switches and a heavy metal base.

This is my first go at a 60% keyboard (coming from a TKL) and I must say that the Poker 3 has impressed. It's build quality is fantastic, typing experience is divine and overall value is great. I will most likely order a second one with Cherry MX Browns.

Was defective on arrival, and only lasted a single smash. xQc would not approve.

Great keyboard, good start for someone getting into 60%/programmable keyboards. Serves me for a year now (I am a software developer) and is still like new. Programmability is limited, but works for 99% of the cases. Overall - great 60%.

Great keyboard, one of the best that you can get. Ask any forum online about getting a 60% and it will only be a matter of minutes before someone mentions the Po3kr and for good reason. If you've been in the market and this thing is on sale, get it. Its a great deal at full price and here on Massdrop, it only gets better.

This is the best keyboard I own, at least the one I like the most. My only issue is that the glossy finish of the keycaps and the fact that they start to wear down after few months. Besides that programming the board is extremely easy with multiple layers. The aluminum body feels really solid, and overall the build quality is really high. If you have some reservations about switching to a 60% board, you really shouldn't. 60% boards have everything you need and more, sure having more keys wouldn't hurt, but having a smaller layout honestly made me a more efficient typist (I don't even have to mention the space savings).
