thomas.buiHi. Thomas,
I can assure you that ours is way different than that one. It's our own design and moulding, take a look at the end of the earbuds, we have our own unique style and shape. Note, we are the first one with our fitting system and it's patent-pending with two permanent buttons on the cable. We also have these gone through liquipel process for sweatproof and repel liquid.
get.voxoa@get.voxoa would you be able to comment on the warranty? The product description lists "1 year". What is covered under that? Are sweat-related problems covered? What are our options for service after the first year? For comparison, the JayBird BlueBuds X Sport on here right now have a lifetime warranty against sweat.
As a related side note, you may want to update your website soon. I only see your headset product on there. http://www.voxoa.com/
devmageThe warranty starts after you receive your purchase, and it covers sweat-related problems too. After the first year, we can do repair in our HQ in Fremont, CA. We are evaluating the combination of liquipel and physical water resistant mechanism, and may extend our warranty further.
get.voxoaThank you for the reply! I have some follow-up questions as well:
What do you mean by "evaluating the combination"? If I/we were to buy these headphones, what water-resistant measures would we expect to find on the models we receive? The Amazon product page for these headphones has an answer from August 2014 that describes "liquid repellent nano technology" - is that Liquipel or something else? Edit: here also, a few posts up, you mention Liquipel.
If you decide to improve your water-resistance through a new coating or similar in the near future, will there be any process by which we can receive this update as well?
I'm interested in your product, for sure, but I don't want to invest in something that is about to receive a relatively substantial improvement (better sweat resistance) unless there is a clear upgrade path in place.
devmageHi., "Liquid repellent nano technology" is just another name for liquipel, which is mostly known to techies. The traditional waterproofing is still done with physical barrier, such as o-ring or glue or gel, after liquipel came along, people start to combine them. There is still some tweak that could be done on the o-ring part. It'll be a minor tweak, nothing major. Hope it helps.
get.voxoaThanks again for your response. I've been taking an intentionally naive point of view in my questions, so that I do not incorrectly assume something about your product and warranty. :)
