TheGrouchIn your opinion is that good or bad? Some people like floppy brushes others more backbone. A lot to consider depending on type of soap you use (cream, hard, soft) whether you like to face or bowl lather, etc. Personally with my style of shaving I don't mind a floppy brush, my Plisson synthetic is quite floppy and is one of my favorite brushes.

cwilliamsGood post. This is totally a personal preference situation. As is with most things when it comes to shaving.

cwilliamsPersonally, I like backbone in my brush. Whether is it face lathering or bowl lathering I find that backbone helps work the lather up faster. It also helps ex foliate the face better. I also have the Plisson Synthetic but that brush is a synthetic and is made to be soft tipped but retain a good backbone since its bristles are not as flimsy. That is not the same as floppy though. I've had a vulfix and the brush was completely floppy and took forever to work up a lather. I would assume that since this brush is 27mm that the backbone would be more than the 24mm I owned.. So.... to each his own.

M_at_oThe wide majority of the time I face lather and tend to use softer soaps and the occasional cream.
