I love having a bright light box that I can have in my lap while sitting in the recliner!
It's only about a half inch thick, but the surface is not flimsy or "delicate" feeling. The on/off switch is also a dimmer switch, so you can adjust the brightness of the light surface to your comfort level.
The only caveat I would offer is that the on/off switch is VERY sensitive. Brushing your hand across will turn it off. Or on. As the case might be. But just as easy to turn back on.
