This is a solid pen, the sort that you can write with daily for years on end and have perform flawlessly. I will not comment on the price, but as a pen, it is up there in the category of "instruments that blend into your hand and put ink to paper without distracting you".
The Black and Chrome with Gold trip is the classic combination for this pen and for many others through the years, including early Parker "51"s. There was a time when I considered divesting myself of all the pens in my collection except those in that color group.
Still might too...
lvoerApples and oranges, my friend. Click on the exact model being offered and you will find a much higher price. Strange, I'd swear that someone mentioned Amazon earlier this morning, but now it is gone. Anyway, there is only one variant in Fine whose price comes close (a bit higher than $215) but all others are way higher.
lvoerNot by any stretch of the imagination. The pen that Amazon offers is neither the Deluxe nor the Essential. It’s the garden variety Carene, same guts but totally different finish and furnishings. The comparable pen on Amazon sells for quite a bit more than The Drop.
