Available now for the first time and only on Massdrop, the 606 Titanium Folder is as handsome as it is useful. With a blade made from S35VN stainless steel, it boasts remarkable edge retention and resistance to wear. Reminiscent of a traditional samurai sword, the tip is reinforced with extra material, making it an excellent piercer. The opening system is smoother than single malt in a piano lounge: Simply press the flipper tab and the blade opens effortlessly thanks to its weight. Chamfered on all sides, the titanium handle provides a smooth feel in the hand. Accents in blue, green, or purple offer a nice contrast to the blade, which is polished to a high-satin finish. Mirroring the slim profile of the folder, the pocket clip provides convenient tip-up carry on the right side. For an even more distinct look, upgrade to the 606C version, which features carbon fiber inlays.
Note: At checkout, choose between the 606 and the 606C (+ $10). Both options are available Blue, Green, Plain, and Purple color options. Limited quantities are available of each.
When Crucible Industries—one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry—introduced CPM-S30V steel, it was praised as the most impressive blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. Its successor, CPM-S35VN, is 20 percent tougher thanks to the addition of niobium to its chemical composition, rivaling some of the most expensive blade steels on the market.
