This thing is fan-fucking-tastic. I am definitely no audio expert, but comparing these to the normal ones that I've had makes a sun and moon difference. I can hear the every little instrument details or beats behind the vocal with little to no effort to focus on trying to listen for them.
Only reason I gave it a 4 is due to the quality of the detachable cord itself. After checking out the comment section and almost 2 years since it was delivered to me, it seems to be a pretty common issue that one side of the headphone would randomly start to stop working/only working after a few months of usage when worn in a very particular angle/position which is hard to find, even a small movement of the mouth and twitches the ear would make it stop working.
I came here for this same issue and a very nice representative from Westone offered to ship me a pair of replacement cable, which worked for a while then the issue persists. I've only worn it when I'm sitting still or walking, never running or unreasonbly stretches it, sometimes I wear it when I sleep. I sent an email to the rep about the same issue again and was told that I need to send the pair of earbuds back to Westone so they can examine it for possible defectives, I refused because this was my only pair of earbud at the time and just lived with the sometimes on and off one-sided earbud, after a whole year later, the side that went bad went even worse and it is even harder to find the "sweet spot" so that it functions.
This was a sweet deal for the money and I do not regret spending $233.74 on it.
