Hi, legit question here.. For me, earphones are gonna be a mobile thing for me, I will very much be unlikely to be using them on my desktop.. Going forward, companies are now slashing out the headphone jack out of their phones, so simply put- are buying IEMs a good idea for someone like me?

JosmosWell, for one thing wired iems are going to sound better than wireless iems. Even if the 3.5mm jack does get phased out, you can get a mini Bluetooth dac/amp to plug your iems into.

JosmosDefinitely! Even if you are primarily a mobile user, most of these iem's appreciate more power. Besides, you can always do a cable upgrade and go balanced.

JosmosIf you want to have an awesome setup that is beginner audiophile grade then check out the Shanling M0 115$ (extremely portable and stylish) and this TRN Bluetooth Cable with AptX 20$ Link Shanling: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/ckBNrM93 Link cable: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/cSXS7BNr This Setup plus the whizzer IEMs will blow your mind. I use this setup most of the time and i have even more expensive equipment. You could try the cable with your phone and at least Spotify set to high quality or mp3 320kbps.

JosmosIf you're not an audiophile then i wouldn't recommend to buy balanced gear. It is only worth it if you're really into audio.

JosmosYou can get cheap 3.5 mm cable converters on Amazon, but if you want one that works with almost every phone that has USB-C, get the Razer one off their web site. It's $25 and THX certified. https://www.razer.com/mobile/razer-phone-audio-adapter I would not get discouraged from buying headphones/earphones. These have very good reviews and come in various colors. Even if a new wired audio standard would come out, XLR and 3.5 mm have been around for a while, and quarter inch aka 6.35 mm has been around since 1877. And online always has converters which will keep you going until your next upgrade and beyond. :)

JosmosBalanced amps drive each ear piece channel separately; i.e. separate ground for both. You get a clearer signal, less noise/him. Additionally, balanced amps usually have more power
