Hello, I hope I can help here, I am the Wigwam sales rep. The comment about American wool is indeed a general comment about the brand when we utilize wool, it is 100% American sourced wool (Montana, USA). In fact, well over 80% of Wigwam's materials are domestically sourced, then made in Wisconsin, USA . The Fireside is casual sock, made of cotton, acrylic, stretch nylon and a small amount of polyester. There is no wool, but the blend of yarns give it a great authentic look and a super soft and comfortable feel on your feet. We call it Pure American Comfort! Thanks for your interest in Wigwam.

That paragraph is indeed a part of the copy that refers to WigWam as a company, how they operate, what they stand for and where they manufacture their products. In no way this piece of information was meant as a marketing ploy to confuse people into buying this product.
