I had a few concerns regarding this set, because after I ordered I read some complains about bent spacebars to the point of being unusable. However I can report that (at least on my set) there were no bent spacebars, not even the longest ones, so no problems here. As for the set itself, it came in a nice box and it was all very nicely packed (I had also read that it didn't come well packed, that they only came in a bag, I can confirm that this did not happen to me).
As for the keycaps themselves, the fonts seem all to be perfect, the novelties are super fun (they are childish I know, but if you don't like them, who hurt you so bad?). There are so many keycaps that I'm sure it will be hard to find keyboards that can't fit these (except for ortholineal I think). Also they feel super solid, way nicer than the ones that came with my Massdrop (yes, still Massdrop) Alt, and they sound much better too, the sound is deeper and more defined with these; although I still have to take the time to mod the horrible stabilizers that came with my keyboard. Also, and unexpectedly the white ones let some light shine through, so they look super colorful when the RGB rainbow effect is on.
So, I'm very happy with this set, specially for the price, and if there's another drop I cannot complain.
This is my first SA keycap set and I just love it!
I Have these on Cherry MX Blues which were getting annoying to me because they were really high pitched. These keycaps have deepen the sound that the Blues make and makes me much more willing to use this keyboard. Also, when I switch from DSA to SA, my typing speed went from 80wpm to 90wpm.
However, there are a few quirks.
In the image below, you can see how the number keys are off center. The CTRL key is also flawed as the R in "CTRL" is higher than the other letters.
Other than those issues, the keycap set has been absolutely awesome!
This is a great keycap set. I'm happy I jumped in on it. I had a set of Pulse SA on my other keyboard and wanted another SA set, but didn't want to pay the price. This came with so many nice extras that I was happy with that as well. I put in on my custom 68keysio board with Halo Trues and they feel really nice.
Nice colors. Minor cosmetic defects and not as build consistent.
Pros: Pretty pastel-like colors. Large set for many different sized keyboards.
Cons: Minor cosmetic defects like some stray black marks. Or lettering on the keys not being completely straight on some of them.
As others have mentioned, some keys may not sit as flush or as firm as others.
All of these I'm going to attribute to high fault tolerance during QC.
Comes with multiple keycaps and novelties to spice up your keyboard. Great thickness and low thum sound emitting from these sets of keycaps. A smooth top surface. Some keycaps does not sit snugly into the swtiches and stabs but those can be solved with a tape under the "cross" hole on the keycap.
SA is a tall keycap and your keystroke have to be precise to avoid hitting on the other keys when typing. If you do not like sculpted top, go for something else like cherry profile or OEM profile that at least have a certain angle. Else XDA or DSA profile for the total flatness.
The downsides are the print on the keycaps. For the keys "*8" and alphabet "Y" were off centered. Everything else about it is alright.
Shipping was surprising fast and arrived within a week during covid period, so was please that it came early.
Good printing quality, great surface feel. Unfortunately my set came without a Y key, and with two T's to make up for it. With better QA this would be 4 stars, and with a little more variety on the row profile for the novelties (they're all R4) to support more keysets it would be 5.
This is my first SA keycap and I'm a bit worried about how much it wiggles...
There are a few keys which aren't centered correctly.
Other than that, they feel great to type on and and have nice solid colors!
buhbangWhat kind of switches does your keyboard have? Cause if it's a traditional stem like cherry red, blue, brown, I've heard it's very common for SA keycaps to have some wiggle/play because of the height of the keycap. If you pair SA keycaps with box switches or something that provides a little more support I've heard that it will make them more stable and have less play.
