ilreceiverNope.
You'll need to provide a standard 15A C13 IEC power cord (found on most desktop computers) and a Type-B USB cord.
Most computer shops will sell these pretty cheap, or you can find an audiophile cabling shop that sell them for 3-4 digits......
ilreceiverNo and No. It's highly recommended that you invest in a good power cable. It does make a difference and yes I've tried both a generic $1 one and a $180 power cable. As for USB, any printer cable is fine. I can't really hear a difference between a no-name vs a Belkin. Perhaps it might make a difference if you get the Kimber, but it'll run you at least $50 and up.
DerekLI'm confused... in the full specs it says "DC cord length: 4.25 ft or 1.3 m with the solid state power supply." Why would I need to buy another power cable?
growl3rIt's only a DC cord connected the SS or tube power with the amplifier. You need to purchase an AC cord to connect your SS or tube power with your wall outlet.
growl3rHaha, that's a very sensitive subject. Some will say digital is digital and you don't need an expensive USB cable. The issue that can arise from cheap cables is the 5V power causing distortion. Some will say you'll get better sound as the cable gets better and better. Others say it's a waste of money and not worth it.
In my opinion, you really only need a quality cable and not much more. If you're looking for a better signal, spend the money on something like the Schiit Wyrd or similar device. They separate and clean up the power signal. This is probably a better solution for the WA7 because the DAC runs off USB power. You can pick up an Audioquest forest USB or I've seen good things about the Belkin gold USB which is like $10 - $15 on Amazon.
growl3rThat is just the connection from the power supply to the unit. You will need to source the cable yourself to plug from the power supply to the wall plug.
growl3rHonestly, a thick cable (not exactly expensive) would be better than a thin one I'd think. However you'd be better off getting a USB ground loop isolator.
growl3rBecause the DC cord is for the power supply to the dac/amp... you'll need an AC cord to plug into the wall.... The same type of plug used on computers, with the trianglish end, and the standard three prong end for the wall...
